Our story
Kawadah Farm was founded with a mission to transform agriculture and food security in Liberia. What began as a farming initiative in 2013 has since evolved into a major force in cassava processing and food production.
In 2015, the Ebola outbreak deeply affected Liberia and West Africa, reinforcing the urgent need for local food production. This led us to focus on cassava—a resilient and vital staple crop. By 2018, we pivoted from traditional farming to food processing, recognizing the potential of cassava-based products to improve nutrition and economic stability.
Our growth accelerated in 2021, when we partnered with ZOA and UNDP to provide cassava training to local farmers. Shortly after, we established our first major collaboration with USDA and Save The Children, allowing us to serve 1 million Power Gari meals—a milestone in our mission to fight hunger.
Today, Kawadah Farm continues to expand, working alongside organizations like the World Food Programme and Mercy Corps to enhance food security and create economic opportunities for smallholder farmers. The introduction of our Farmer Partner Network has further strengthened our commitment to empowering communities, ensuring a sustainable future for Liberia and beyond.
